Mansfield Police Partners with Wal-Mart, Zachry

A large population of Manfield's elderly citizens received a
special visit and gifts from Mansfield Police Department and corporate citizens,
Wal-Mart and Zachry Industrial, Inc. for Christmas.

Assistant Police Chief Gary Hobbs, his wife Jennifer, Brent Turner and Bobby Neal of Zachry and
Wal-Mart Super Center's store manager Shunta Bolden brought lots of cheer and goodies for over 200
citizens of the Mansfield Nursing Center, DeSoto Retirement Center and the DeSoto Council on Aging.

This year the Mansfield Police Department and two corporate sponsors are not only reaching out to the
less fortunate children and families of Mansfield, but by doubling their contributions the team is able to
include the City's elderly population as well.

Zachry Industries, the maintenance provider for International Paper Company’s
Mansfield Mill, and the Walmart Supercenter

Mansfield Nursing Center's activity director Julia Dickerson said the gifts and visit made her
nursing center's citizens "very happy" and that's all she cares about is their "happiness" this time of year.

Also this week, at the DeSoto Multicultural Community Center, more than 200 children whose families needed
a little help in providing Christmas gifts received a present on their wish list.  This is the third year that the
MPD has teamed with these corporate sponsors for the childrens' toy giveaway.  Because of this effort, hundreds of
children have received gifts over the three years, that otherwise may not have had a special Christmas.
