Mayor's Day of Recognition for National Service

On April 1st, mayors across the country participated in the second annual Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service.  Mayors held public events and used traditional and social media to highlight the value and impact of national service in our cities.  Last year, 832 mayors representing nearly 100 million citizens participated in the inaugual Mayors Day of Recognition for National Service.  
Marvin Jackson, City Clerk presented the Foster Grandparents with a proclamation by Mayor McCoy that declared April 1st as National Service Recognition Day and encourages residents to recognize the positive impact of national service in our city and thank those who serve; and to find ways to give back to their communities.
