Code Enforcement Report
Officer Ronnie Morris Sr
Under the current administration, 61 dilapidated houses and 108 blighted properties that were overgrown have been cleared. We are making an effort to seize unattended properties where the owners cannot be located. The City of Mansfield is continuing with our “COME CLEAN” initiative. That is an acronym for:
City Of Mansfield Excellence - Community Leadership Environmental Action Network.
This year will be our fourth year participating in “LOVE the BOOT” week. We are continuously attempting to engage the community in our clean-up efforts. Each year the City of Mansfield participates in this endeavor with our “Keep Mansfield Beautiful Day.” Youth groups from our local schools participate in this effort along with Mayor Thomas Jones, Jr.; City Councilpersons; Mansfield Chief of Police (Christopher Johnson); Mansfield Fire Chief (Brian Ross); Pastors and community leaders.
DO NOT LITTER signs have been installed around the city and a grant has just been submitted for additional signs that reflect the fines for littering. The Sanitation Department is endeavoring to be more meticulous when it comes to garbage pickup and roadside pickups of limbs and other debris has become more organized. We are continuing with our efforts to address dilapidated houses and overgrown properties. While the removal of these properties is a priority, the process is not always immediate. We must follow proper protocols and procedures.
Future plans include searching for grants that will help the indigent and the elderly that are trying to clean their properties but are unable and can’t afford to pay someone. Semiannual Code Enforcement reports along with other information will also be posted moving forward.

Our office will be close Monday, February 16 & Tuesday, February 17 in observance of Presidents' Day and Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday). We will reopen February 18 during regular business hours 8:30am-4:00 pm.
Trash pickup will resume Wednesday February 18. Pick up for Monday & Tuesday will occur on that day.
We have officially rescinded the boil advisory following the notification from the Louisiana Department of Heath.
Have a great day!
The City of Mansfield partnered alongside many wonderful agencies, local churches, companies and people to help facilitate shelter, warming stations, food & water distributions, and propane. Every act of kindness and help during this time is what sets Mansfield apart. We have a great community of leaders and citizens who consistently step forward to serve when it's needed.

American Red Cross
From the office of Mayor Thomas Jones, Jr
For everyone who has property damage, we encourage you to reach out to Red Cross. They are mobilized to bring urgent relief to people affected by the recent winter storms. If you are in need of this assistance please reach out to them by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS
(800-733-2767).
Customers will see pressure swings in the water distribution system throughout the night as the plant operators work to establish a sufficient water level in the elevated storage tank. Our goal is to have the system stabilized with adequate pressure by mid-morning on Friday. Again, thank you for your continued patience.
ATTENTION!!!
Boil Advisory remains in effect.
The water system pressure is gaining and will continue throughout the day. Normal operating pressure should be established by midday at the current flow rate.
Thank you all again for your patience and understanding!
With freezing temperatures expected, residents are encouraged to take steps now to protect their homes and prevent frozen or burst pipes. Cover and insulate all exposed pipes. If you are leaving your home, turn off the water supply and drain your pipes. Stay safe and warm.

If you see DOTD or city workers in your area, this is the work they will be performing. These efforts are part of ongoing maintenance to help improve drainage across the city. Thank you for your patience as crews continue this work.

Mayor Jones offered a blessing over the meal served to residents, family and friends. Chief Johnson, Chief Ross, and HR Director Sonja Byrd helped pass out gifts to residents from under the tree.
Moments like these remind us that the holidays are about presence, gratitude, and community. We’re thankful for the opportunity to connect, share smiles, and celebrate the season together.
