Ordinance No. 2
Residents and Customers of the City of Mansfield Water System

The City of Mansfield Water System is pleased to inform all residents and customers that the Boil Water Advisory previously issued on April 15, 2026 has been officially lifted.

This advisory was issued as a precautionary measure due to a 2” water service line break that caused low water pressure in some of the water distribution system. Since that time, the water system has taken all necessary corrective actions, including flushing and disinfection of the system.

Water samples collected from our distribution system have been tested by the Louisiana Department of Health and have been determined to be safe for consumption. These results confirm that the water meets all regulatory standards for public health and safety.

Therefore, it is no longer necessary to boil your water before use. You may resume normal water usage for drinking, cooking, bathing, and all other purposes.

The City of Mansfield appreciates your patience and cooperation during this advisory period. We remain committed to providing safe and reliable drinking water to all our customers.

If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the City of Mansfield Water Department at (318) 872-0406.

Sincerely,

Tarus Chatman Public Works Director City of Mansfield Water System

Code Enforcement Report
Officer Ronnie Morris Sr

Under the current administration, 61 dilapidated houses and 108 blighted properties that were overgrown have been cleared. We are making an effort to seize unattended properties where the owners cannot be located. The City of Mansfield is continuing with our “COME CLEAN” initiative. That is an acronym for:
City Of Mansfield Excellence - Community Leadership Environmental Action Network.

This year will be our fourth year participating in “LOVE the BOOT” week. We are continuously attempting to engage the community in our clean-up efforts. Each year the City of Mansfield participates in this endeavor with our “Keep Mansfield Beautiful Day.” Youth groups from our local schools participate in this effort along with Mayor Thomas Jones, Jr.; City Councilpersons; Mansfield Chief of Police (Christopher Johnson); Mansfield Fire Chief (Brian Ross); Pastors and community leaders.

DO NOT LITTER signs have been installed around the city and a grant has just been submitted for additional signs that reflect the fines for littering. The Sanitation Department is endeavoring to be more meticulous when it comes to garbage pickup and roadside pickups of limbs and other debris has become more organized. We are continuing with our efforts to address dilapidated houses and overgrown properties. While the removal of these properties is a priority, the process is not always immediate. We must follow proper protocols and procedures.

Future plans include searching for grants that will help the indigent and the elderly that are trying to clean their properties but are unable and can’t afford to pay someone. Semiannual Code Enforcement reports along with other information will also be posted moving forward.
