The Desoto Parish Police Jury has been ordered by the Federal Court to create a new Redistricting Plan for its Police Jury Districts.
There are 2 Redistricting Plans being considered by the Federal Court, the Special Master’s Plan and the 2027 Desoto PJ Plan 1.
There will be a Town Hall meeting on Thursday, October 15th to review the plans at the Mansfield City Hall, at 5pm. There will be a detailed report with maps of the plans.

HELP STOP ILLEGAL DUMPING
New “Unlawful to Dump” signs will be placed throughout various neighborhoods and communities across the city as part of Louisiana’s ongoing efforts to prevent littering and illegal dumping.
Residents are encouraged to help by reporting littering violations. If you witness someone illegally dumping or littering, you can report the incident by providing the vehicle’s license plate number.

⚠️ Violators may receive citations by mail, and fines for illegal dumping can reach up to $10,000.

The Federal Court has appointed a Special Master to create the redistricting plan. The new redistricting plan will be made public on September 22, 2026, by order of the Court.
There will be a Town Hall meeting on Thursday, September 24, 2026, to review the plan at Mansfield City Hall, at 5pm. There will be a detailed report with maps of the plan.

Yesterday's job fair brought out a great crowd of job seekers and employers from across the community. Thank you to everyone who came out and all the businesses who participated!
We were excited to join Walmart for its grand reopening and celebrate a fresh new look.
Mayor Jones shared a few words and Chief Bryan Ross was recognized alongside Chief Michelle Thomas, Council Member Christopher Thomas. Ronnie Morris led prayer and was also recognized.
Our Mansfield High School band and cheerleaders brought the energy 🎶 and Council Member Jeter Jones even treated everyone to a performance of his own!
It was definitely a HOT one but good music, good people, and a great reason to come together made it worth braving the Louisiana heat. ☀️😅

For more than two decades, Gwen has been a steadfast presence, a trusted mentor, and a cornerstone of our organization. Her knowledge, commitment, and unwavering dedication have helped shape the City of Mansfield in countless ways. To so many of us, she has been the heart of this office, always willing to lend a helping hand, share her wisdom, and make everyone feel like family.

City of Mansfield Receives More Than $2.6 Million in Water & Sewer Infrastructure Funding for 2026.
Mayor Thomas Jones has secured three major grant awards totaling more than $2.6 million for the City of Mansfield to support water and sewer infrastructure improvements throughout our community.
The awarded funding includes:
$1,015,000 - Federal funding secured through Congressman Cleo Fields.
$720,000 - Federal funding secured through Congressman Cleo Fields.
$900,000 - State funding through the State of Louisiana’s Community Development Block Grant (LCDBG) program.
These investments will help improve essential infrastructure, strengthen public services, and support the long term needs of our growing community.
